Art Class: Carolyn Harper – Weaving with Nature
July 21 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Explore, experiment and acknowledge the beauty of the native plants around you by incorporating them into a one-of-a-kind weaving/wall hanging. Textile and Fiber artist Carolyn Harper invites you to find the beauty in both the simplicity and complexity of natural forms and using these forms to push the boundaries of what woven art can be.
Starting with a small loom, which is yours to keep, you will weave together plant fibers, roots, sticks and leaves, as well as natural and synthetic yarns and string. You will learn not just how to weave, but how to experiment with materials in order to connect with the nature and beauty that exists all around you.
While all supplies will be provided, Harper encourages you to forage for materials in your yard and surrounding area that you can bring and use in class.
Registration Opens on June 28th.
