Jackson Pollock created many of his ground-breaking “action painting” masterpieces on the dirt floor of a garage in East Hampton. If you would like your child to experience making a real “drip painting” using the actual “all-over painting” technique, then sign them up for this group class experience painting together on a gigantic canvas outdoors at Buck Hill. All Camp Club ages welcome! There really is no way to mimic Jackson Pollock’s signature techniques while working in a traditional studio or classroom, or by using an easel. Instead, we will watch a short instructional video produced by The Museum of Modern Art, practice action painter movements with a variety of sticks and paint brushes, and then collaborate on a canvas outside in the spirit of “Autumn Rhythm.” Large T-shirt smocks and all art materials provided.
